Kingsbury's Repair & Service Division Expands To Reduce Lead Times

PHILADELPHIA, PA, February 2, 2006 - In response to customer demands for shorter lead times, particularly on large bearings and components, the Repair & Service (R&S) Division of Kingsbury, Inc. will break ground in February 2006 to add 12,000 square feet of production space. The addition will include a new 120” horizontal boring mill and 130” vertical boring mill, as well as a 30-ton overhead crane. The additional space will be dedicated to providing immediate response of emergency repairs in the power generation marketplace, where fast turnaround of large bearings is becoming an increasingly pressing issue.

Previously, the R&S Division, located in Hatboro PA, USA had relied on Kingsbury’s corporate facility in nearby Philadelphia for machining its large bearing components. The new R&S expansion will give this division the capacity to respond independently to accommodate repair requests on an emergency basis. Scheduled for completion in June 2006, the R&S Division’s plant will be the largest single facility in North America dedicated to service and repair of fluid film bearings.
