KINGSBURY, INC. INTRODUCES NEW LOW-PROFILE LEG® THRUST BEARING

PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 14, 2001 - Kingsbury, Inc. has announced the introduction of a new low-profile equalizing thrust bearing for new or retrofit applications. Thickness of the new LEG SlimLine bearing is 35% smaller than that of traditional equalizing bearings, yet provides the same load-carrying capacities as current offerings in the Kingsbury line.

The new LEG SlimLine bearing is a fluid-film-type thrust bearing designed with 6, 8 or 11 shoes, in sizes from 92 mm to 457 mm. The new equalizing bearing incorporates Kingsbury's patented Leading Edge Groove (LEG®) lubrication technology to lower frictional losses and lube oil requirements while also reducing oil film temperatures – features which contribute to overall installation economy.

Leveling plates on the back of the bearing ensure that the load is equally applied to all shoes simultaneously. The leveling plates, combined with a spherical shoe support, also ensure that the thrust bearing face is perfectly aligned with the rotating thrust collar.

The new low-profile LEG SlimLine bearing offers load capacities equivalent to – or better than – conventional equalizing bearings, while maintaining the narrow thickness of the standard non-equalizing bearing.
