The patented LEG journal bearing, in conjunction with our LEG thrust bearing, has made it possible for the world’s leading equipment manufacturers to increase bearing loads, reduce friction and hold babbitt temperatures within acceptable limits.

Standard LEG pivoted shoe journal bearings consist of five babbitted journal shoes supported in a precisely machined aligning ring. The back of the journal shoe or pivot insert is contoured so that the shoe can tilt and pivot to develop an optimum oil film and self-align to the journal. Kingsbury pivoted shoe journal bearings are also designed to withstand high shock load or vibration applications.
